The number of people who have tested positive for coronavirus in Berkshire has risen by 53 in the last 24 hours, new data has revealed.

Another death has also been recorded in one of Berkshire's hospital trusts. It was recorded on September 23.

The figures issued on Friday, September 25, by Public Health England shows a further 6,874 lab-confirmed cases of coronavirus in the UK, setting another new daily record.

Overall, 423,236 cases have been confirmed.

A further 34 people have now died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19.

The total number of deaths at NHS trusts in and around Berkshire is now 579, as detailed below:

Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust: 368
Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust: 191
Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust: 20

This brings the UK total to 41,936.

This is how the figures break down in terms of cases for each area of Berkshire as of September 25:

Reading : 948 cases (increase of eight)
Slough : 913 cases ( increase of 23)
Wokingham : 714 cases (increase of seven)
West Berkshire : 586 cases (increase of three)
Windsor and Maidenhead: 652 cases (increase of ten)
Bracknell Forest : 499 cases ( increase of two )
