ALMOST 200 new cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in Berkshire in the past 24 hours, according to latest figures.

Public Health England has recorded 190 lab-confirmed cases in the past day (Sunday, November Cool in areas including Reading, Bracknell, Wokingham, West Berkshire, Slough, and Windsor and Maidenhead.

These figures, correct as of 12pm on Monday, November 9, bring the county's lab-confirmed positive Covid-19 tests total to 9,887, according to Public Health England.

The local breakdown for the past 24 hours as follows:

Bracknell - 19 cases, 1,076 total

Wokingham - 15 cases, 1,550 total

Reading - 31 cases, 1,919 total

West Berkshire - 13 cases, 1,239 total

Slough - 45 cases, 2,314 total

Windsor & Maidenhead - 31 cases, 1,789 total

The latest 7-day rate per 100,000 people locally are as follows:

Bracknell - 102 per 100,000 people

Wokingham - 92.3 per 100,000 people

Reading - 154.5 per 100,000 people

West Berkshire - 104.8 per 100,000 people

Slough - 235.4 per 100,000 people

Windsor & Maidenhead - 169.7 per 100,000 people

There have now been 1,192,013 cases of Covid-19 across the UK – an increase of 20,572 on the previous day.

The total number of deaths - those with Covid-19 listed on the death certificate - across the UK has now reached 60,051. There were 156 deaths reported over the past 24 hours.

Locally, there were three deaths recorded in the past 24 hours (two in Windsor and Maidenhead and one in Wokingham), taking the total deaths across Berkshire to 795.

In today's national coronavirus news:

The number of people with the coronavirus (COVID-19) in England and Wales continues to increase, but the rate of increase is slower than it has been in recent weeks.

The Ofice for National Statistics (ONS) said an estimated 618,700 people in England had the coronavirus in the most recent week, or 1 in 90 people.
