Author Topic: Berkshire coronavirus death toll rises as 167 new cases confirmed overnight  (Read 1381 times)

Another 167 cases of coronavirus have been recorded across Berkshire in the past 24 hours, the latest figures show (Thursday, December 3).

In the same time, another two deaths at NHS hospitals serving the county have been reported, with one at Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust and another at Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust.


Slough again saw the biggest increase in cases in the daily statistics, with a rise of 53. It takes the town's total to 4,025 since the start of the pandemic.

In Reading cases increased by 38 overnight, with 29 new infections confirmed in Wokingham and 26 in Windsor and Maidenhead.


The Government said a further 414 people had died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 as of Thursday, bringing the UK total to 60,113.

This is how the latest breakdown of cases for each area of Berkshire:

Bracknell Forest    : 1,504 cases    (increase of 12)
Reading    : 2,807 cases    (increase of 38)
Slough    : 4,025 cases    ( increase of 53)
West Berkshire    : 1,698 cases    (increase of 9)
Windsor   and Maidenhead: 2,455 cases    (increase of 26)
Wokingham    : 2,209 cases   (increase of 29)
This is the latest data on the total number of deaths at NHS trusts in and around Berkshire:

Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust: 449  (increase of one)
Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust: 259  (increase of one)
Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust: 23 (no change)
Separate figures published by the UK’s statistics agencies for deaths where Covid-19 has been mentioned on the death certificate, together with additional data on deaths that have occurred in recent days, show there have now been 76,000 deaths involving Covid-19 in the UK.

As of 9am on Thursday, there had been a further 14,879 lab-confirmed cases of coronavirus in the UK.

It brings the total number of cases in the UK to 1,674,134.
