A weather warning has been issued for the Royal Borough with forecasters predicting snow and ice tomorrow (Monday) following plunging temperatures this week.

The Met Office said rain could turn into snow which, along with “widespread ice”, will lead to the potential for some disruption to travel and utilities.

People are being warned some roads and railways are likely to be affected with longer journey times by road, bus and train services, as well as injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces, and the possibility of some icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths.

The yellow warning is in place from midnight on Monday (December 28) until 6pm.
