One new coronavirus-linked death has been recorded in Berkshire in the latest daily figures.

Statistics from Public Health England show that Covid infection rates have also risen slightly in three areas of the county.

They are down in one area and have not changed in two others.

The latest death was reported at Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust and takes the overall county death toll from the virus to 1,780.

The areas where rates have risen in the latest data are Bracknell Forest, Reading and Wokingham.

The rate has fallen in Windsor and Maidenhead and remains the same in Slough and West Berkshire.

There have been 41 new cases reported in the county today, Saturday, April 17. A month ago, on March 17, there were 74.

Meanwhile, across the UK, the Government said a further 35 people had died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 as of Saturday, bringing the UK total to 127,260.

The Government also said that, as of 9am on Saturday, there had been a further 2,206 lab-confirmed cases in the UK.

It brings the total to 4,385,938.

These are the latest rolling seven-day infection rates for each area of Berkshire, expressed as the number of cases per 100,000 of population

Bracknell Forest: 29.4 (increase from 26.1 )
Reading: 32.1 (increase from 29.7)
Slough: 70.2 (no change)
West Berkshire: 14.5 (no change)
Windsor and Maidenhead: 27.1 (down from 31.7)
Wokingham: 18.7 (increase from 18.1)

This is the latest breakdown of confirmed cases for each area of Berkshire since the start of the pandemic:

Bracknell Forest: 7,049 cases (five new cases)
Reading: 10,849 cases (ten new cases)
Slough: 15,372 cases (14 new cases)
West Berkshire: 6,324 cases (two new cases)
Windsor and Maidenhead: 8,426 cases (six new cases)
Wokingham: 8,172 (four new cases)
This is the latest data on the total number of deaths at NHS trusts in and around Berkshire:

Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust: 1,247 (no change)
Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust: 501 (increase of one)
Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust: 32 (no change)

How many people have had a Covid vaccine?

Government data up to April 16 shows that of the 42,110,495 jabs given in the UK so far, 32,693,527 were first doses – a rise of 119,306 on the previous day.

Some 9,416,968 were second doses, an increase of 485,421.
