Coronavirus infection rates have fallen in five areas of Berkshire and risen slightly in one new data shows.

The latest statistics from Public Health England reveal infection rates have gone up in Wokingham.

There have also been 28 new cases of the virus reported across the county in the latest figures.

Slough reported 11 of those cases - the most - and West Berkshire recorded ten.

Across the UK, the Government said a further five people had died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 as of Monday, bringing the UK total to 127,684.

Separate figures published by the UK’s statistics agencies show there have been 152,000 deaths registered in the UK where Covid-19 was mentioned on the death certificate.

The Government also said that, as of 9am on Monday, there had been a further 1,979 lab-confirmed cases in the UK. It brings the total to 4,452,756.

This is the latest rolling seven-day coronavirus infection rates per 100,000 people for the week ending May 11:

Bracknell Forest: 14.7 (down from 15.5)
Reading: 20.4 (down from 22.3)
Slough: 27.4 (down from 28.1)
West Berkshire: 18.9 (down from 22.1)
Windsor and Maidenhead: 10.6 (down from 14.5)
Wokingham: 18.1 (up from 17.5)

This is the latest breakdown of confirmed cases for each area of Berkshire since the start of the pandemic, plus change in the last 24 hours (in brackets)

Bracknell Forest: 7,131 cases (no new cases)
Reading: 11,025 cases (11 new cases)
Slough: 15,648 cases (three new cases)
West Berkshire: 6,489 cases (10 new cases)
Windsor and Maidenhead: 8,565 cases (no change)
Wokingham: 8,304 (four new case)

No NHS mortality is issued at the weekend. This is the latest data on the total number of deaths at NHS trusts in and around Berkshire as of Friday, May 14:

Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust: 1,248 (no change)
Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust: 501 (no change)
Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust: 32 (no change)
How many people have had a Covid vaccine?

Government data up to May 16 shows that of the 56,992,075 jabs given in the UK so far, 36,704,672 were first doses – a rise of 131,318 on the previous day.

Some 20,287,403 were second doses, an increase of 183,745.
