Dr Azmy Birdi, who is an accredited specialist in Women’s health and Menopause medicine, alongside Chris Oxtoby and Dr Clare Westcott, training further in Women’s health, are holding a course of 3 menopause café sessions.
Session 1 (16/6/21) will look closely at the underlying causes and symptoms of the menopause.
Session 2 (23/06/21) goes into detail about treatment options available from HRT to alternative therapies. Session 3 (30/6/21) looks at long term women’s health and sexual health through and after the menopause, including topics such as weight management and cardiovascular health.
Throughout the course we aim to bust myths, reduce stigma, make the sessions enjoyable and hopefully improve womens’, their partners and societies views about the menopause to embrace it in a much more positive and celebrated way!
One day we hope to hold these sessions in person but for now we have to hold them virtually. Despite this we still hope that it will be interesting, enjoyable and encouraging for all who attend.
