Author Topic: Berkshire coronavirus cases rise by 149 in latest daily update  (Read 1192 times)

There have been another 149 coronavirus cases across Berkshire over the last day, according to the latest figures.

Data from Public Health England shows the biggest one-day increase across the area was in Reading, where there were 37 positive covid test recorded.

There were 32 cases in Wokingham, 30 in Windsor and Maidenhead, and 24 cases in Bracknell Forest.

Meanwhile Slough recorded another 20 cases and West Berkshire just six.

The weekly infection rates across the area saw an increase in Windsor and Maindenhead as well as Wokingham.

However infection rates have been dropping across Reading, Slough, and West Berkshire.

Nationwide, as of 9am today, there were another 15,810 positive coronavirus cases recorded across the United Kingdom.

This means a total of 4,699,868 people have contracted the virus since the start of the pandemic last March.

Across the UK there have been another 18 people who have died within 28 days of receiving a positive coronavirus result.

This means the death toll now stands at 128,066.

A total of 43,877,861 people across the country have now had their first dose of the coronavirus vaccine, while 32,085,916 people have had both jabs.

This is the latest rolling seven-day coronavirus infection rates per 100,000 people for the week ending June 19:

Reading: 139.1 (down from 139.7 )
Windsor and Maidenhead: 67.4 (up from 62.7)
Slough: 72.2 (down from 72.9)
Bracknell Forest: 74.3 (down from 75.1)
Wokingham: 78.9 (up from 76)
West Berkshire: 64.4 (down from 65.6)

This is the latest breakdown of confirmed cases for each area of Berkshire since the start of the pandemic, plus the change in the last 24 hours (in brackets):

Reading: 11,885 cases (+37)
Windsor and Maidenhead: 8,854 cases (+30)
Slough: 16,201 cases (+20)
Bracknell Forest: 7,581 cases (+24)
Wokingham: 8,964 (+32)
West Berkshire : 6,813 cases (+6)
