There have been another 338 coronavirus cases across Berkshire over the last 24 hours, as infection rates continue to fall.

The latest Public Health England data shows there have now been 71,076 coronavirus infections across the county since the start of the pandemic last March.

The highest single-day increase across Berkshire today was in West Berkshire, where there were another 68 positive coronavirus infections identified.

The second-highest was in Wokingham where there were another 65 cases, while 64 were in Reading.

Elsewhere there were 52 infections in Windsor and Maidenhead, 50 were recorded in Slough and 39 in Bracknell Forest.

Nationally there were another 27,734 coronavirus cases recorded across the United Kingdom today, bringing the total number of infections to 5,770,928.

There have been another 91 people across the United Kingdom who have died within 28 days of receiving a positive coronavirus test.

This means a total of 129,430 people have died after contracting the virus.

There have now been 46,689,242 first doses of the coronavirus vaccine given out across the UK with 37,610,911 people having been double-jabbed, for a total of 84,300,153.

Here are the latest rolling seven-day coronavirus infection rates per 100,000 people in Berkshire for the week ending July 21:

Reading: 319 (down from 366.5 )
Windsor and Maidenhead: 329.5 (down from 357.3)
Slough: 255.5 (down from 278.2)
Bracknell Forest: 378.6 (down from 458.6)
Wokingham: 346 (down from 368.7)
West Berkshire: 298.5 (down from 334.5)

This is the latest breakdown of confirmed cases for each area of Berkshire since the start of the pandemic, plus the change in the last 24 hours (in brackets):

Reading: 14,072 (+64)
Windsor and Maidenhead: 10,640 (+52 )
Slough: 17,574 (+50)
Bracknell Forest: 9,443 (+39)
Wokingham: 10,906 (+65)
West Berkshire : 8,441 (+68 )
