Another 246 cases of coronavirus have been found in Berkshire in the last 24 hours.

Since the start of the pandemic, there have been 72,283 cases of Covid-19 in Berkshire, according to the latest update from Public Health England.

The highest number was found in Wokingham, where 49 positive tests were returned.

Wokingham now also has the highest seven-day infection rate at 250.1 cases per 100,000 population.

Nationally, there had been a further 24,470 lab-confirmed Covid-19 cases in the UK, the Government said.

A further 65 people had died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 as of Sunday, bringing the UK total to 129,719.

Separate figures published by the Office for National Statistics show there have been 154,000 deaths registered in the UK where Covid-19 was mentioned on the death certificate.

Here are the latest rolling seven-day coronavirus infection rates per 100,000 people in Berkshire for the week ending July 25:

Wokingham: 250.1 (down from 270)
Windsor and Maidenhead: 237.7 (down from 256.2)
West Berkshire: 222.8 (down from 228.5)
Slough: 226 (down from 228)
Reading: 249.7 (down from 254)
Bracknell Forest: 249.7 (down from 266.Cool

This is the latest breakdown of confirmed cases for each area of Berkshire since the start of the pandemic, plus the change in the last 24 hours (in brackets):

Reading: 14,327 (+45)
Windsor and Maidenhead: 10,827 ( +33)
Slough: 17,742 (+46)
Bracknell Forest: 9,621 (+37)
Wokingham: 11,137 (+49)
West Berkshire : 8,629 (+36 )

Government data up to July 31 shows that of the 85,196,986 Covid jabs given in the UK, 46,851,145 were first doses, a rise of 38,858 on the previous day.

Some 38,345,841 were second doses, an increase of 212,159.
