Another person has died after a positive test for coronavirus in Berkshire - as almost 350 more cases were recorded across the county.

Public Health England figures published on Saturday evening (October 2) showed that the new death was within West Berkshire.

Meanwhile there were a further 349 positive tests for the virus in the latest 24 hour recording period, with Wokingham seeing the biggest rise (90).

Today's update also revealed that there were 84 more cases in Reading, 67 in Windsor and Maidenhead, 47 in Bracknell Forest and 45 in Slough.

West Berkshire saw the smallest number of new cases, with 16.

Nationwide, a further 121 people had died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 as of Saturday, bringing the UK total to 136,910.

Separate figures published by the Office for National Statistics show there have been 161,000 deaths registered in the UK where Covid-19 was mentioned on the death certificate.

As of 9am on Saturday, there had been a further 30,301 lab-confirmed Covid-19 cases in the UK.

Here are the latest rolling seven-day coronavirus infection rates per 100,000 people in Berkshire for the week ending September 27:

Reading: 321.2 (up from 320.6)
Windsor and Maidenhead: 366.9 (down from 374.2)
Slough: 322.9 (up from 298.2)
Bracknell Forest: 333.4 (up from 318.9)
Wokingham: 313.9 (up from 312.2)
West Berkshire: 253.1 (down from 260)

This is the latest breakdown of confirmed cases for each area of Berkshire since the start of the pandemic, plus the change in the last 24 hours (in brackets):

Reading: 18,994 (+84)
Windsor and Maidenhead: 15,237 (+67)
Slough: 21,536 (+45)
Bracknell Forest: 12,590 (+47)
Wokingham: 15,624 (+90)
West Berkshire : 12,533 (+16)
