Covid cases in Berkshire are on the rise in rural areas and villages but bigger towns are seeing a drop in infections - with Reading doing the best.

Latest government figures show Reading Central was the only area of the county with an infection rate of between 50 and 99 cases per 100,000 people.

In the seven days to November 10, there were 15 cases or 99.6 infections per 100,000 people living in the centre of the town.

At the other end of the scale, Bray Wick and Holyport had more than 800 infections per 100,000 people.

The area in the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead had 67 cases, which equates to 875.9 infections per 100,000 people.

Infections are down in the central areas of Bracknell, Newbury and Slough.

Here’s a breakdown of neighbourhoods in Berkshire where Covid cases are on the rise. (Some areas do not tally exactly with electoral wards.)

The figures show the number of new cases to November 10, the percentage increase and the rate per 100,000 people.
