Bray Wick and Holyport sees new Covid-19 cases more than double week-on-week

One area of Berkshire has seen the number of new coronavirus cases in the area more than double week-on-week - the latest figures show.

Public Health England Covid-19 data released on Wednesday night - November 17 - breaks the county down into more than 100 Middle-layer super output areas, each of which has a population of approximately of 7,200 people.

Of these, the Bray Wick and Holyport area currently has the highest infection rate in the county - with a rolling infection rate of 954.4 per 100,000 people.

The area, which sits in the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, saw 73 new coronavirus cases confirmed in the week up to November 12 - an increase of 41 (128.1 per cent) compared to the previous seven days.

As a whole RBWM currently has the highest infection rate of any of the six unitary authority council areas that make up Berkshire.

The Royal Borough's infection rate currently sits at 479.9 - with a total of 726 new cases confirmed in the seven days up to November 12 according to data released on Wednesday.
