A total of 15 areas of Berkshire have coronavirus infection rates above 1,000 per 100,000 people - according to the latest figures released by Public Health England (PHE). Data released on Wednesday evening shows four areas of West Berkshire top the areas with the highest Covid-19 rates.
Three other areas of West Berkshire also make the list of areas with the highest rates in the county. There are also three areas of Wokingham Borough, two in Reading, two in the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead and one in Bracknell Forest.
Slough is the only one of the six unitary authorities that make up Berkshire that does not have any areas in the top 15. The latest figures come as the number of coronavirus cases in the UK has risen week-on-week.
