M4 closures this weekend near Slough

Work to upgrade a long stretch of the M4 motorway into a Smart Motorway continues. National Highways is working to convert a stretch of the carriageway between Junction 3 (Hayes) and Junction 12 (Theale) - with work now nearing completion.
The work - which started in 2018 and has cost around £848million - has seen the motorway frequently closed over weekends. These closures have seen traffic in Berkshire divert while the M4 is shut.
However, there are a number of slip road closures that motorists may want to know about. National Highways has listed several in the Slough area.
On Friday night, July 1, the westbound entry slip road at Junction 6 will be closed to traffic. There will also be a closure on the westbound exit slip road at Junction 7. Further afield there will also be a closure on the eastbound carriageway within Junction 3 - with a diversion over the junction.
The slip roads are set to be shut between 8pm on Friday night and 6am on Saturday morning, July 2. The closure within Junction 3 in Greater London is due to be in place between 11pm and 6am.
The same two slip roads will be shut again on Saturday night. They will reopen at 6am on Sunday, July 3.
In the latest update on the project, National Highways said: "Since the 17-mile section between junctions 8/9 at Maidenhead and 12, for Theale, was opened in December 2021, we’ve been continuing with our work on the 15-mile eastern section, between junctions 3 at Hayes and 8/9.
