FIRST: YET ANOTHER COURIER FRAUD:
A relative, reported that her elderly father had received a telephone call from a man, saying he was 'PC Eric Cole' from the police. He was told to verify that the call was genuine, by putting the phone down and dialling 999 and asking the operator for him. This he did, but of course the Fraudster did not terminate the, call but handed the receiver over to an accomplice who acted as the operator. When the victim, put the phone down to redial 999, the call was still connected.
‘PC Cole’ explained that there had been some fraudulent use of his credit cards. He would cancel them for him. Details were passed over the PC Cole who said he would send a courier, to collect them. Would he please put them in an envelope and hand them to the courier, which he would organise for Monday 13th between 10 a.m. / 12 noon. The victim, told the relative what was happening. She explained it was a scam and called the police. PCSO Les Bradfield is be with the victim this morning in case the Courier arrives.
Please let everyone you know how this works and if they get a call from the police to say there has been fraud on their cards, to contact someone they trust before taking any action.

10/1 Friday 3 p.m. / 3.30 p.m. Shop car park, Shifford Crescent. The owner is sure the car was locked. When she got home she found her purse had been stolen from her bag left in the car. There was no signs of forced entry. When she phoned her bank to cancel her cards, the bank told her there had been attempts to use her cards which had been refused, so they had already put a stop on the cards.

12/1 Sunday 3.40 a.m. Wessex Way. A witness saw two youths spraying offensive graffiti on a neighbour’s garage wall.
10/1 - 11/1 Friday 6.30 p.m. / Saturday 6.15 a.m. Croxley Rise. Van rear passenger window smashed - Petrol saw and drill box stolen.
11/1 Saturday 5.05 a.m. Glebe Road. This was a call from a resident, who confirmed they checked their CCTV and found video footage of a man trying the handle of his car parked on the driveway. Wonderful, this may be vital evidence needed to identify an offender who walks around trying car door handle. Can everyone keep an eye on CCTV / Video doorbell footage if ever I report an crime near to you. You may live several streets away, but this can tie up routes taken by opportunist thieves, or connect crimes. We can then plan our patrols more accurately. ALSO - a particular location / route, can identify an offender. The most common identifying factor from these videos - are the trainers. The offenders - sometimes - change their clothes, but generally wear the same trainers, so an identification of a particular make of trainers, will identify an offender.
12/1 - 13/1 Sunday 9 p.m. / Monday 8.30 a.m. Courtlands. CAR ENTERED BY UNKNOWN MEANS and searched, WALLET, HOUSE KEYS and loose change stolen. All the house locks have had to be changed as a consequence.
OLDFIELD, BRAY & HOLYPORT:
13/12 Monday 6.45 a.m. / 9 a.m. Braybank, Bray. A Vespa Paiggo LX 50 index RX ** FLL stolen from outside a house - the bike and lock stolen. The owner was not going to bother reporting it as it was old, but he is now receiving tickets and there are fines to pay !
