We have had to make difficult decisions regarding how we react to the Coronavirus and in line with so many events and institutions and in discussions with the Trustees the following has been agreed:

the Gallery has been kept open over this weekend
we will review early this week whether to open from Thursday next week until the end of the run of the Winter Exhibition 22 March
we will aim to proceed with the installation of the Summer Exhibition
we will postpone the Custodians meeting 25 March
we will review later this week whether to postpone the opening of the Summer Exhibition (currently from 26 March)

The way things are going it is possible that the decision about opening or not will be taken beyond our control and that it is likely that all museums and galleries will be ordered to close before we are due to open the summer show.
All very, very disappointing but inevitable. We must do all we can to ensure the safety of our volunteers and I am sure that you agree that we are not alone in taking such actions."
