Sainsbury’s

If you shop at Sainsbury’s, you’ll only be able to buy up to three of any grocery products and a maximum of two of the most in-demand products, including toilet paper, soap and UHT milk.

“We have enough food coming into the system but are limiting sales so that it stays on shelves for longer and can be bought by a larger number of customers,” says Sainsbury’s.

All of Sainsbury’s cafes, meat and fish counters will be closed from today (19 March).

The supermarket also reserved the first trading hour in every Sainsbury’s for elderly and vulnerable customers on 19 March, but it’s unclear whether more slots will be set aside in the future.

Sainsbury’s will soon help the elderly and vulnerable get food delivered by prioritising delivery slots to those over the age of 70 or those who have a disability.

The supermarket says it will be in touch with these customers over the next few days.

An expanded Click and Collect service will also be offered from 23 March
