The UK Government has announced unprecedented new measures to protect the public from coronavirus and COVID-19. We're here to help you stay well in the upcoming weeks and months and keep you updated as the situation evolves.

The new measures which have been announced state that you should not leave your house except for the following reasons:
Shopping for necessities like food and medicine as infrequently as possible.

One form of exercise a day either alone or with people you live with only. This may include running, walking or cycling.
Medical needs of any kind or to provide care to a vulnerable person, including moving children under the age of 18 between homes or taking children of key workers to school.

Travelling to and from work, only if work is necessary and absolutely cannot be done at home.
You are still able to seek medical care under these measures. GP practices and pharmacies are currently very busy. Some GP surgeries have switched off online appointments or are turning to telephone or video appointments to minimise the risk of people coming in with COVID-19 symptoms.

Please see the communications or website of your GP practice or pharmacy for actions they are taking. If you or a loved one have not yet signed up to Patient Access, you can sign up here.

If you or anyone you live with experience any symptoms of fever or a new, continuous cough, you should self-isolate and not leave your house for any reason until you have used the Patient coronavirus checker or the NHS 111 coronavirus tool to find out what to do next.

On the few occasions you may leave the house, all of us should continue to take part in social distancing by keeping two metres (6ft or a broom's length) away from people outside of our household at all times. This is especially important for people in risk groups, such as older people, pregnant women and those with underlying health conditions.

Patient, the NHS and Public Health England are all producing regularly updated guidance and advice so you can stay on top of the latest information.
