I wanted to contact you to ensure you're aware of how to register for additional support if you need it in these difficult circumstances. I also wanted to make sure that if we need to visit your property during this period we can protect you and our teams from any risk.

Please help us to help you by letting us know if:
You (or anyone in your home) is of pensionable age
You have a young family with children under the age of five
Anyone at home has mobility issues
Anyone is experiencing chronic health conditions
Anyone at home relies on medical equipment
Anyone has visual or hearing impairment or any other communication need
It’s important we know about any additional needs you may have so we can help support you, for example by bringing you water in the event of a water outage in your area (not just during this period but for as long as you need our support).

Register for Priority Services

Due to the current situation it's really important that unless you have an immediate emergency that you contact us through our website. This will allow us to maintain the best service for all.

Protecting the health and well-being of our customers and teams is our number one priority. We continue to work hard to maintain the high level of service you expect from us.

You may have noticed some of our staff out working, or seen our vans on the road. This is because we've been identified as key workers by the Government. As such, our teams are continuing to carry out essential maintenance and repair work to keep your taps flowing 24/7.

Our staff working out in the community continue to exercise hygiene best practice and we have extended this to our office based teams.

We have also implemented robust measures that insist our team members self-isolate if they show any signs or symptoms which could relate to COVID-19. This will help prevent risk to customers they are directly coming into contact with.

If for any reason we need to visit your home we will contact you by telephone first to see if we can support you remotely. If you do require us to visit your home we will during this call establish if the visit can be delayed or whether it is critical for us to visit.

We will at this point establish everything we need to know that will allow us to keep you and our colleagues safe during this necessary visit.

We are sending this communication to all our customers who are not already on our Priority Service Register to see if anyone does need extra support during this difficult time.

As always, we encourage all of our customers to continue drinking water regularly. Please rest assured Coronavirus does not spread through tap water and our water treatment processes are very effective at eliminating viruses through the disinfection process.

Regular hand-washing is key to preventing the spread of the virus so please ensure you regularly wash your hands with warm tap water and soap for at least 20 seconds.

Remember, even if you don’t think you need to register with us today, please talk to friends and family who you think might need extra support.

Finally, we would encourage all of our customers to continue following official Government advice on preventing the spread of COVID-19 by staying home.

Best wishes
Tanya
