A Section 34 Dispersal Order has been authorised by Inspector 3330 Croucher around The Bounty Public House, Cockmarsh, Bourne End from 12pm Saturday 4th July until 12pm Monday 6th July. This is to prevent anti-social behaviour after recent reports of public disorder in the area. A Section 34 Order allows Police Officers and PCSO's to issue tickets to those suspected of committing anti-social behaviour and requires them to leave the area, or face being arrested. Please report any issues to 101 or 999 in an emergency, quoting reference number 629 30/06/2020.

While I think it was arguably 'brave' of the Bounty to open ahead of the official timeframe for pubs, I do hope this issue can be resolved amicably
Firstly while it is entirely possible that there was public disorder around the Bounty in the last few weeks, I've not seen any posts here suggesting that anyone observed it, and certainly I have been in the area most weekends recently and the conduct of pub attendees seemed peaceful and well-behaved. Nor has the Bounty been historically associated with disorder as far as I am aware - I've never seen anyone commenting here on that.
I do understand that it was apparently considered necessary by the authorities to prevent people from congregating in the pub garden area and that this will inevitably have caused overspill onto the towpath - the Bounty staff were proactive in requesting that patrons immediately leave the area with their takeaway drinks and had staff monitoring at all times.
I do trust that if there is a police presence there this weekend that both the public and the police will behave responsibly and that this issue will blow over in due course.
