Due to the number of scams and frauds perpetrated on our elderly and vulnerable residents, I have received this message from RBWM Trading Standards. As you know, we heavily promote Call blocker phones to protect them.
The National Trading Standards Scams Team, have received government funding for ‘TrueCall’ telephone blockers.
These are great devices for blocking all scam and nuisance calls and have the option, of setting up a secure safe list for friends, family and other regular callers.
These will be made available online from the:
Friends Against Scams website from 9am this Wednesday 8th July, via:
www.FriendsAgainstScams.org.uk/callblockerThe units will be sent directly to the applicant, who will need to self-install them – this is quite simple and there is a helpline and an information booklet.
Units will be supplied on a first come first served basis.
