A further 14 cases of coronavirus have been recorded in the last 24 hours in Berkshire, according to new official figures released today (September 2).

Five out of six areas of Berkshire have seen a rise in cases, bringing the number of positive tests to 3,723.

Reading was the only local authority area with no new infections.

No further deaths have been recorded at hospitals in the county.

UK-wide, ten more people have died in the past 24 hours, taking the death toll to 41,514.

A total of 338,676 people are confirmed to have had the virus since the start of the pandemic, an increase of 1,508 since yesterday.   

This is how the figures break down in terms of cases for each area of Berkshire:

Reading : 864 cases (no change) 
Slough : 768 cases ( increase of four)
Wokingham : 646 cases (increase of five)
West Berkshire : 533 cases (increase of two)
Windsor and Maidenhead: 506 cases (increase of two)
Bracknell Forest : 415 cases (increase of one)
The total number of deaths at Berkshire NHS trusts remains at 574, as detailed below:

Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust: 365
Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust: 190
Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust: 20

Boris Johnson was accused of "governing in hindsight" today after presiding over a series of U-turns on coronavirus policy as he appeared before MPs for the first time since July.
