The M4 will be closed this weekend in both directions so a bridge over the motorway can be demolished.

The full closure will be in place between junctions 7 for Slough West and 8/9 for Maidenhead.

The motorway will close at 8pm on Friday, September 25 and is due to reopen by 6am on Monday, September 28.

This is so that the old Ascot Road bridge near Bray can be demolished.

A new bridge for Ascot Road was installed in May.

The bridge demolition is part of the project to convert the M4 into a smart motorway.

When the £848 million project is completed, 11 bridges will have been removed and replaced.
