Three more coronavirus deaths have been recorded at NHS trusts serving Berkshire, new data shows.

The latest statistics from officials reveal that two more people have died at Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust, while another person has died at Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust.

The news comes after the way area-by-area daily cases are reported across the UK changed.

From November 16, Public Health England has updated the way it records the location of people who test positive or negative for Covid-19.

It now prioritises addresses given at the point of testing over the details registered on a patient’s NHS Summary Care Record.

Officials say this better reflects the distribution of cases and testing - but may give rise to differences in previously reported numbers of cases and rates in some areas.

The change has been retrospectively applied to tests carried out from September 1.

As a result, officials say the number of cases reported by local authorities may be artificially high or low on November 16.

That is borne out by the data for Berkshire, with Wokingham, West Berkshire and Windsor and Maidenhead all seeing their figures drop on those reported on November 15.

As a result, comparisons with previous data are difficult to make, but the new data is below.

This is how the latest breakdown of cases for each area of Berkshire:

Bracknell Forest  : 1,246 cases  (increase of 11)
Reading  : 2,235 cases  (increase of 66)
Slough  : 2,934 cases  ( increase of 66)
Wokingham  : 1,752 cases (a drop of 38 on yesterday's figure)
West Berkshire  : 1,440 cases  (a drop of 29)
Windsor and Maidenhead: 2,024 cases  (a drop of 59)

This is the latest data on the total number of deaths at NHS trusts in and around Berkshire:

Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust: 419 (increase of two)
Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust: 244 (increase of one)
Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust: 21 (no change)
It comes after it emerged a further 213 people had died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 as of Monday.

That brings the UK total to 52,147.

In addition, the Government said that, as of 9am on Monday, there had been a further 21,363 lab-confirmed cases of coronavirus in the UK.

That rise takes the total number of cases in the UK to 1,390,681.

Separate figures for deaths where Covid-19 has been mentioned on the death certificate, together with additional data on deaths that have occurred in recent days, show there have now been 67,000 deaths involving Covid-19 in the UK.

Meanwhile, Health Secretary Matt Hancock said it is too early to know the impact of the second lockdown in England on coronavirus cases - although he hopes measures can be eased on December 2.
