The M4 motorway is set to be closed in Berkshire for most of the weekend as work on converting the road into a Smart Motorway continues.

The carriageway will be shut in both directions between Junction 5 ( Langley ) and Junction 4b (the interchange with junction 15 of the M25 ) from Saturday evening (April 17) until the morning of Monday, April 19.

There will be diversions in place taking traffic off the M4 while the closures are in place.

A Highways England spokesman said: "The M4 will be closed in both directions from 17 April – 19 April 2021 between Junctions 4b (M25 interchange) and 5 (Langley).

"The closure will start at 10pm Saturday 17 April and the motorway will reopen by 6am on Monday 19 April."
