Highways England tweeted yesterday evening to explain it will be closing the M4 in both directions between Junction 6 (Slough) and Junction 8/9 (Maidenhead).

It said the closure will be in place from 8pm tonight (Friday, April 23).

The road will reopen by 6am on Monday, April 26.

Drivers are being asked to plan ahead and use signed diversions.
