Coronavirus infection rates have risen slightly in four areas of Berkshire, new data shows.

The latest statistics from Public Health England reveal infection rates have gone up in Bracknell Forest, Slough, West Berkshire and Wokingham.

They have fallen slightly in Reading, and in Windsor and Maidenhead.

There have also been 31 new cases of the virus reported across the county in the latest figures.

Slough reported 11 of those cases - the most - and West Berkshire recorded 10.

No mortality data is now reported by the NHS at the weekend, so there has been no update today on Covid death figures pat our hospital trusts.

Across the UK, the Government said a further seven people had died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 as of Saturday, bringing the UK total to 127,675.

Separate figures published by the UK’s statistics agencies show there have been 152,000 deaths registered in the UK where Covid-19 was mentioned on the death certificate.

The Government also said that, as of 9am on Saturday, there had been a further 2,027 lab-confirmed cases in the UK.

It brings the total to 4,448,851.

This is the latest rolling seven-day coronavirus infection rates per 100,000 people for the week ending May 10:

Bracknell Forest: 18.8 (up from 13.9)
Reading: 21.6 (down from 22.3)
Slough: 28.1 (up from 26.1)
West Berkshire: 25.2 (up from 20.Cool
Windsor and Maidenhead: 17.8 (down from 20.5)
Wokingham: 16.4 (up from 15.2)

This is the latest breakdown of confirmed cases for each area of Berkshire since the start of the pandemic, plus change in the last 24 hours (in brackets):

Bracknell Forest: 7,130 cases (two new cases)
Reading: 11,009 cases (five new cases)
Slough: 15,638 cases (11 new cases)
West Berkshire: 6,473 cases (10 new cases)
Windsor and Maidenhead: 8,565 cases (two new cases)
Wokingham: 8,299 (one new cases)

No NHS mortality is issued at the weekend. This is the latest data on the total number of deaths at NHS trusts in and around Berkshire as of Friday, May 14:

Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust: 1,248 (no change)
Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust: 501 (no change)
Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust: 32 (no change)
