While the figure is down from Saturday's increase of 660, three areas saw more than 100 new cases each, with the biggest increase - 119 - in Bracknell Forest.

The second-highest was in Reading, where there were 117 new cases, followed by 112 in Wokingham, 88 in Windsor and Maidenhead, and 80 in West Berkshire.

The smallest increase was in Slough, where there were 59 cases.

The highest infection rate is in Bracknell Forest, where there are 370.5 cases per 100,000 people

As of 9am on Sunday, there had been a further 48,161 lab-confirmed Covid-19 cases in the UK, the Government said.

A further 25 people had died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 as of Sunday, bringing the UK total to 128,708.

Separate figures published by the Office for National Statistics show there have now been 154,000 deaths registered in the UK where Covid-19 was mentioned on the death certificate.

Here are the latest rolling seven-day coronavirus infection rates per 100,000 people in Berkshire for the week ending July 13:

Reading: 278.2 (up from 257.1 )
Windsor and Maidenhead: 247 (up from 231.8 )
Slough: 179.9 (up from 161.8 )
Bracknell Forest: 370.5 (up from 328)
Wokingham: 232 (up from 211.5)
West Berkshire: 215.2 (up from 199.4)

This is the latest breakdown of confirmed cases for each area of Berkshire since the start of the pandemic, plus the change in the last 24 hours (in brackets):

Reading: 13,384 (+117)
Windsor and Maidenhead: 10,005 (+88)
Slough: 17,032 (+59)
Bracknell Forest: 8,830 (+119)
Wokingham: 10,137 (+112)
West Berkshire : 7,788 (+80)
