Do you have young children / grand children, know any, are in contact with any, work with youth groups – scouts / guides locally, or organisations where young people have summer jobs ?  If so, we are asking for your help.

The Borough are carrying out a massive Youth Survey and need to consult with and obtain the views of, as many young people as possible.

A number of the partners across RBWM, including:
Thames Valley Police,
RBWM,
Achieving for Children,
the DASH charity,
have come together to deliver this RBWM-wide, Youth Engagement Project.

This project, with has been named ‘The S.A.F.E Youth Project’, which stands for…

S – Make unSafe places safe
A – Advice, from young people to the police and vice versa
F – Facilitate and inForm and Feedback
E – Engagement

It has been set up in order to:

Engage young people, predominantly between the age of 11-24 yrs. across RBWM.
Seek feedback on what the police and partners are doing well, and not so well and to capture the 'youth voice'.
Identify what young people are concerned about, and how they feel about their community.
Inform the work of the Community Safety Partnership / CSP Sub-Groups and broader partnerships across RBWM
Facilitate and inform future work with young people and to facilitate their involvement in problem solving local issues
The project will be delivered in two parts.
Part 1, will run from now until the end of October 2021.  It will involve partners engaging with young people on a 1:1 basis, and asking them a series of questions, which have been designed by young people, for young people.
Part 2, will run during the month of October and will involve a series of group sessions, where young people’s views, will be explored in greater depth, and a number of webinars and workshops will be delivered.
The project will also be looking to gather the views of parents across RBWM, albeit on a smaller scale.

Following this, a detailed report will be produced, outlining the above work, and summarising the view of young people across RBWM.  This will then be used to better inform all our work moving forward, and the work of the Community Safety Partnership.

The survey can be accessed, completed and submitted directly, via this link:

Alternatively you could print out a copy / copies, have them completed and then drop them off at a local police station.

It is really important that we gather as many views and opinions as possible and from as diverse a range of young people as we can.

All the other agencies in RBWM will be doing the same, and all the completed surveys will be held and analysed by Elaine Keating, from Achieving for Children.

We are – as always, really grateful for your support and assistance.
