There have been another 307 coronavirus cases across Berkshire in the latest daily update.

According to latest Public Health England figures there have now been 71,277 coronavirus cases across Berkshire since the start of the pandemic.

And the latest seven-day infection rates, correct as of July 25, show a surge in numbers across the county.

The largest one-day increase across Berkshire was in Reading where there were another 68 positive coronavirus tests as of 9am today (July 30).

The second-highest was in Windsor and Maidenhead where there another 61 cases with Bracknell Forest recording 53 new infections.

Across West Berkshire there were 49 new cases with 46 in Wokingham.

The lowest increase was in Slough, where there were just 30 cases.

Nationally there have been another 29,622 coronavirus cases identified bringing the UK total since the start of the pandemic to 5,830,774.

Another 68 people have died within 28 days of receiving a positive covid test, bringing the UK death toll to 129,583.

There have however been 46,775,525 first doses of the coronavirus vaccine given out while 37,962,407 people have been double-jabbed.

Here are the latest rolling seven-day coronavirus infection rates per 100,000 people in Berkshire for the week ending July 25:

Reading: 286.2 (up from 164.4 )
Windsor and Maidenhead: 267.5 (up from 192.Cool
Slough: 236.7 (up from 195.3)
Bracknell Forest: 322.3 (up from 135.5)
Wokingham: 310.9 (up from 135.6)
West Berkshire: 243.6 (down from 109.Cool

This is the latest breakdown of confirmed cases for each area of Berkshire since the start of the pandemic, plus the change in the last 24 hours (in brackets):

Reading: 14,207 (+68)
Windsor and Maidenhead: 10,762 (+61)
Slough: 17,659 (+30)
Bracknell Forest: 9,538 (+53)
Wokingham: 11,022 (+46)
West Berkshire : 8,539 (+49 )
