Two new deaths linked to Covid-19 and another 331 cases of coronavirus have been reported across Berkshire in the past 24 hours.

According to Public Health England there have now been 1,459 people in Berkshire who have died within 28 days of a positive coronavirus test.

The latest deaths were recorded in Slough and Bracknell Forest.

The seven-day infection rate data, based on infections up to September 5, shows Bracknell Forest is again the only area with a week-on-week decrease.

The largest single-day increase across Berkshire over the past day came in Reading where there were another 68 coronavirus cases identified as of 9am today (Friday, September 10).

The second-largest was in Windsor and Maidenhead which recorded 59 while Slough saw another 58 positive coronavirus test results.

In Wokingham there were 56 new cases while West Berkshire saw 44. In Bracknell Forest there were 46 new cases.

The Government said a further 147 people had died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 as of Friday, bringing the UK total to 133,988.

Separate figures published by the Office for National Statistics show there have now been 158,000 deaths registered in the UK where Covid-19 was mentioned on the death certificate.

As of 9am on Friday, there had been a further 37,622 lab-confirmed Covid-19 cases in the UK, the Government said.

Here are the latest rolling seven-day coronavirus infection rates per 100,000 people in Berkshire for the week ending September 5:

Bracknell Forest: 325.4 (down from 327.Cool
West Berkshire: 486.5 (up from 473.9)
Reading: 412.9 (up from 392.3)
Slough: 312.9 (up from 306.9)
Windsor and Maidenhead: 415.1 (up from 401.3)
Wokingham: 411 (up from 399.6)

This is the latest breakdown of confirmed cases for each area of Berkshire since the start of the pandemic, plus the change in the last 24 hours (in brackets):

Bracknell Forest: 11,603 (+46)
West Berkshire : 11,460 (+44)
Reading: 17,516 (+68)
Slough: 20,224 (+58)
Windsor and Maidenhead: 13,625 (+59)
Wokingham: 14,108 (+56)
