One more person has died in Berkshire within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19.

The new death was reported in Windsor and Maidenhead, according to the latest official figures published on Tuesday evening (October 12).

Meanwhile a further 464 cases have been confirmed in the last day - down on the 562 reported yesterday.

Wokingham - with 113 - had the biggest increase in the latest 24-hour recording period.

West Berkshire saw the smallest increase, reporting 40 more positive tests for the virus.

Nationally, a further 181 people had died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 as of Tuesday, bringing the UK total to 137,944.

Separate figures published by the Office for National Statistics show there have been 163,000 deaths registered in the UK where Covid-19 was mentioned on the death certificate.

As of 9am on Tuesday, there had been a further 38,520 lab-confirmed Covid-19 cases in the UK.

Government data up to October 11 shows that of the 94,428,905 Covid jabs given in the UK, 49,216,092 were first doses, a rise of 29,172 on the previous day.

Some 45,212,813 were second doses, an increase of 23,632.

Here are the latest rolling seven-day coronavirus infection rates per 100,000 people in Berkshire for the week ending October 7:

Reading: 304.4 (up from 300)
Windsor and Maidenhead: 419.1 (up from 413.Cool
Slough: 365 (up from 347)
Bracknell Forest: 308.5 (up from 306)
Wokingham: 389.3 (up from 356.4)
West Berkshire: 236.6 (up from 217.7)

This is the latest breakdown of confirmed cases for each area of Berkshire since the start of the pandemic, plus the change in the last 24 hours (in brackets):

Reading: 19,771 (+76)
Windsor and Maidenhead: 16,191 (+83)
Slough: 22,366 (+78)
Bracknell Forest: 13,185 (+74)
Wokingham: 16,780 (+113)
West Berkshire : 13,122 (+40)
