More than 500 new Covid infections were recorded across Berkshire today, latest figures have revealed.

A total of 546 new cases were confirmed in the county today.

The highest number of cases were found in Wokingham, where 135 positive tests were returned. It was followed by Reading and West Berkshire, which had 88 each.

Slough had the fewest cases after recording just 69 new cases.

Today's update brings the total number of cases in the county to 115,829.

No new Covid-related deaths were recorded in the county, meaning the death toll remains at 1,516.

The Government said a further 74 people had died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 as of Sunday, bringing the UK total to 140,632.

Separate figures published by the Office for National Statistics show there have been 165,000 deaths registered in the UK where Covid-19 was mentioned on the death certificate.

As of 9am on Sunday, there had been a further 38,009 lab-confirmed Covid-19 cases in the UK, the Government said.

A total of 49,955,853 first doses of Covid-19 vaccine had been delivered in the UK by October 30, a rise of 33,763 on the previous day, Government figures show.

Some 45,697,856 second doses have been delivered, an increase of 24,908.

A combined total of 7,925,851 booster and third doses have also been delivered, a day-on-day rise of 361,428.

Separate totals for booster and third doses are not available.

This is the latest breakdown of confirmed cases for each area of Berkshire since the start of the pandemic, plus the change in the last 24 hours (in brackets):

Reading: 22,015 (+88)
Windsor and Maidenhead: 18,249 (+87)
Slough: 24,263 (+69)
Bracknell Forest: 14,832 (+79)
Wokingham: 19,680 (+135)
West Berkshire : 16,185 (+88)
Total increase: 546

Here are the latest rolling seven-day coronavirus infection rates per 100,000 people in Berkshire:

Reading: 456.5 (down from 507.1 )
Windsor and Maidenhead: 479.3 (down from 505 )
Slough: 460.6 (down from 489.4 )
Bracknell Forest: 476 (up from 465.5 )
Wokingham: 545.6 (down from 593.3 )
West Berkshire: 624.7 (down from 697.9 )
