A VERY GOOD WEEKEND – NO CRIME TO REPORT.

NO BURGLARIES

AND

NO CARS BROKEN INTO !!

FIRST:  An unusual case of Sextortion
The aggrieved has had her Instagram account hacked.  She received a message from a man with intimate photos of her asking for £300.  She didn’t pay and her account was blocked, when the man must have changed her password.  She has no idea where the man obtained the photos, but if she does not pay, he will send them to all he contacts.  If she pays, he will return control of the Instagram account to her.

The moral of this story is – All photos / videos / emails / texts / messages / strings stored in your phone / hard drive, are always at risk of being hacked !

So the advice is as always – do not photograph, video, say. write, text, record anything on your phone / computer hard drive, you would not be happy for your family, friends, neighbours, work colleagues, employer to see.  Anything stored on your devices – can be hacked !!!

NEXT:  A request from Asma Aziz at CVS - asking for more volunteers to join the teams at the vaccination centres.

Retired or semi-retired  ?  Give volunteering at a vaccination centres a go this year

Two senior volunteers who have clocked up almost 270 hours of service at Slough’s vaccination centres, are calling on others “to give it a go” this New Year.

Angela, who is from Langley and fully retired, said: “I’d say give it a go. You can choose your shifts and how often you do them.  It’s not physically demanding and it’s good fun, too.”  Angela, a Rotarian who accumulated 133 hours of volunteering in 2021, added: “There’s a good camaraderie around the place."

Meanwhile, Ray, 65, from Wokingham, accumulated 135 volunteer hours at Salt Hill Activity Centre last year. Like Angela, he’s still going strong in 2022. "Volunteering got me out of the house and I was able to meet people again.  I’ve made some really good friends here, and they come from all walks of life.  I also enjoy giving people reassurance when they’re waiting for their jabs.”

Slough Council for Voluntary Service (Slough CVS) manages the “High Viz Heroes”, and anyone over the age of 16 can volunteer, at both Salt Hill Activity Centre and Langley Health Centre.

You can sign up now at:  https://oneslough.org.uk/volunteer/

If you wish to volunteer as a group, please email  nhsvolunteering@sloughcvs.org.uk
