We did it! The RBWM Cabinet has abandoned plans for a 100% cut to arts funding, and instead approved £140,000 for 2022-23 – a 17% increase.

This extraordinary turnaround seemed impossible just a few weeks ago. It is a victory for the whole community, and for every single person who has been a part of the campaign to save the arts.

Local supporters of the campaign directly addressed the RBWM Cabinet on Thursday evening, urging them to maintain arts funding in Windsor and Maidenhead. After their speeches, the Cabinet approved £140,000 of investment.

Cabinet members had voted to amend the proposed budget, which they have recommended for approval to Full Council, to include arts funding of £115,000 for Norden Farm and £25,000 for the Old Court for 2022/23.
