Drivers travelling on the M4 this weekend face delays overnight as part of the motorway will be closed. The carriageway and some slip roads will be shut each night as part of ongoing smart motorway works in Berkshire.
The eastbound carriageway and entry slip roads will be closed between junction 5 (Langley) and junction 4b (M25 interchange) on Friday, May 27 from 11pm, with the road due to reopen by 6am the following morning. A signed diversion will be in place.
On Saturday, May 28 and Sunday, May 29 the same stretch of the road will be closed in both directions from 10pm each night, the motorway is due to reopen by 5.30am the following morning. The M25 link roads will also be closed.
Drivers will be diverted via M25, A3113, A3044, and onto the A4 or this route in reverse. There are likely to be delays due to the closure and passengers travelling to Heathrow Airport for early morning flights may be affected by the roadworks.
