The county is set to see a number of roadworks this week on some busy Berkshire roads - as well as on the nearby M3 across the border in Surrey. They may be annoying but we can't live without them as they give us essential routes and updates.

The road closures in place could change last minute due to any exceptional circumstances. With an amber weather warning in place this week, we need to expect the unexpected.

National Highways has released the latest list of roadworks for the week ahead affecting the county. You may want to avoid driving this week if you can, especially if you don't have aircon.

Roads are expected to be even busier as people head to coastal areas, open water swimming areas and lakes to cool down. However, all of the closures are taking place overnight until early morning which will affect early risers or overnight travellers.

Smart Motorways works are taking place on the M3, M4 and on the A34. https://www.getreading.co.uk/news/reading-berkshire-news/berkshire-road-closures-m3-m4-24458466?utm_source=berkshire_live_newsletter&utm_campaign=daily_newsletter2&utm_medium=email
