M4 Closures this Weekend

There are a number of closures on the M4 motorway over the coming weekend. Work on upgrading a long stretch of the motorway through Greater London and Berkshire into a four-lane Smart Motorway started in 2018.
Now the project, which runs between Junction 3 for Hayes in Greater London and Junction 12 for Theale, near Reading, is almost finished. The £878million project has the motorway frequently closed to traffic for entire weekends while work has taken place.
So, is the M4 shut this weekend? While there is no full weekend closure on the motorway there are a number of stretches of the carriageway that drivers should be aware of if they're planning to use the motorway on Friday night and into Saturday morning - this includes stretches near Reading, Heathrow Airport and the M25.
M4 closures on Friday night, July 15, into Saturday morning, July 16:
The westbound carriageway is closed between J3 A312 The Parkway (Hayes / Heston) and J4B M25 J15. The westbound carriageway will also be shut between Junction 12 (Reading/Theale) and Junction 13 (Chieveley/Newbury).
