New telephone system Cookham Medical Centre

From Cookham Surgery. We recently sent out a message about the new telephone system at the surgery, and we have realised that some of our patients would like a little more information.
To explain in more detail: The practices in our Primary Care Network (MPCN), are changing to the same telephone system. This is the first step towards being able to cope better with emergencies such as power cuts, loss of IT services, staff shortages etc. Practices on the same phone system, in the event of such a crisis, will, in future, be able to switch calls over to a buddy practice or location, allowing us to carry on taking calls and looking after our patients while we solve the underlying problem.
Our new system went live on Wednesday 17th August. Our number remains the same. The new system has a few more features. It can tell you what position you are in the queue and is linked to our clinical system so we can see more easily who is calling us.
Our receptionists have been trained and are quickly adapting to the new system but like all new things it can take a little time to get used to it and I thank you in advance for your patience
