FIRST: AN ACTION FRAUD TO REPORT WHICH IS ONGOING SO FEW DETAILS AT THIS TIME:
The victim was contacted in an unsolicited phone call, by a company asking him if he was interested in investing in crypto currency.
The victim then started to receive multiple emails from the company, giving him user names and passwords to access an online Crypto Currency purchasing APP and a crypto currency wallet in which to store his investments.
The victim then transferred funds into the wallet.
Later, when the victim asked to retrieve the money from his wallet, he was told he needed to invest more money into his account in order to do this. He did this ! The company, then switched his account, to a different crypto currency trading company.
The victim was also instructed to download new Apps that would help him retrieve his investment.
His bank is now investigating all that has happened for him as well as the 50 transactions he has made. They have though explained that it will be difficult to recover his losses.
The victim is still receiving texts from the company to say there are still ways to retrieve his investment, but the bank have explained this is part of an ongoing scam.
PLEASE BE ALERT. IF YOU WISH TO MAKE INVESTMENTS, START WITH RECOMMENDATIONS OF COMPANIES AND INVESTMENT ADVISORS FROM YOUR BANK – AND NOT – SOMEONE WHO COLD CALLS YOU ON THE PHONE !!!!

A WORLD CAFÉ CAME TO THE WALTHAMS !
Thursday 25th August 2022 – 1 p.m. / 3 p.m.
Woodlands Park Community Centre, Woodlands park Village Centre, Manifold Way, Waltham Road, Maidenhead SL6 3GW.
Excellent World Café yesterday, held in the Walthams, to discuss local issues and how we – the Borough and all the partner organisations represented - can work together to improve local people’s lives and relieve their anxiety, through the cost of living crisis.
The event was attended by local residents, partner organisations, RBWM Community Wardens and Cllr. John Baldwin representing Belmont ward, Cllr. Maureen Hunt representing Hurley & The Walthams, Cllr Andrew Johnson Leader of the Council and Cabinet and Cllr Jon Davey observing from Clewer & Deworth West.
The police were there to engage with partners and the public and brought along their Fun Food Station, serving posh hot dogs. Their engagement tool used at events such as fetes, school events and any community engagement event !
The World Café Team, worked hard with residents to obtain their views about the cost of living crisis and what RBWM, the police and our partners can do to address their concerns and improve their lives at this time.
