From Rae PfizerHi Cookham! Just over a year ago myself and 2 others took on the role of leaders at 1st Cookham Guides. I can tell you it's been a learning experience for me and it's such a rewarding experience. I've had the chance to provide the future ladies of Cookham a safe space to meet friends, learn skills and have fun. On top of that I've made some great friends too. For varying reasons the other two leaders can no longer support Cookham Guides, and I'm looking for one or two people to help me run the Unit on a regular basis. This could be as a volunteer helper, or you could join and do the Leadership training to become a leader. Girlguiding offers lots of training including safeguarding, first aid as well as outdoor activity training opportunities. We meet Friday evenings in Cookham, which means the girls get an opportunity to wind down at the end of their school week, and allows me to do my full-time job alongside with minimal impact to Guides meetings if I need to travel for work.
