An unprecedented test of an emergency system that would be used in life-threatening situations will be taking place later this month. It will affect everyone who has a mobile phone.

The Government has confirmed that the test will take place on Sunday, April 23, at 3pm. It will see mobile phones emit a loud alarm and vibrate.
