*** Cookham Bridge Closure Update***

- Bridge closure from 16th October until the end of Feb
- The Bridge will be open for Pedestrians (you can walk a bicycle across, but there will be no carriageway)
- Majority of the works will be below the bridge, and will be remedial work to repair rusting pillars and struts
- Comms will be coming from RBWM this week in the form of letters to Cookham and Bourne End residents, social Media, press releases, signage, schools and webpages
- Drop-in information session on 18th July at the Parish Centre 4pm to 7pm (so you can watch the Swan Upping, then wander round the corner!). this session will have details about the bridge, works to be carried out, diversion route, additional works to be done whilst the closure is in place etc.
- Diversion route will be via A404, rather than Maidenhead or Marlow Bridges due to the size of the roads and the restrictions on the crossing, both width and weight. Signage will be to divert traffic away from Cookham and Bourne End from all approaches in addition to the diversions at the end of the High Street
- most of the Works plant will be on BE side - DB Marine are helping with standing space.
