I see that the Council are planning to pick up small electrical items and batteries at our doorstep rather than us having to take them to the tip. Does anyone know anything about this?

Roger you'll be lucky, I cannot see this happening, I have tried several times to get my Textile Recycling bag picked up. I have complained on 3 occasions and have been assured that left out it would be picked up, will just have to take it down to the main depot.

The same article says that "there will be no initial changes to collections" after Serco takes over the contract in October, but that they will "gradually introduce a host of new initiatives".  So I think we'll be waiting a while longer for kerbside collection of small electricals and batteries.

In that case I will stop holding my breath.
