We have had a case of Bogus builders - this is how it can work !

DON’T LET IT BE YOU

17/11/2019 - On Sunday, the victim has been walking in Westmoreland Road, Maidenhead, when she has encountered two men, they implied that they knew her and that 'MARY', had recommended that they to do her driveway & guttering. The victim then wrote them a cheque for £1,850 as a deposit and also at some stage, handed over £200 in cash.
19/11/2019 on Tuesday, the victim has returned home, from playing tennis, to find the two men's ladder's up against her home.
The suspects soon returned to the house from the pub.  They have then taken her into town, for her to attempt to withdraw £2k from her bank and £1K from a building society).
The bank staff have then initiated the ‘Banking Protocol’ and called police. When the police arrived, the suspects immediately made off in a white van.

The victim has then been debriefed by staff and taken home for a further debrief with family.

The cheque for £1850 had not been drawn on the victims account by the suspects, so this has will be frozen from being drawn. The total believed loss is £200.
