And the nationwide death toll now stands at 14,576, which represents an increase of 847 over the same period.

As of 9am 17 April, 438,991 tests have concluded, with 21,328 tests on 16 April and a total of 108,692 people have tested positive.

Slough still has the highest number of cases in the county with 270, now followed by Reading,  Berkshire, which stands at 263.

There are now 210 Wokingham cases, 166 cases in Windsor and Maidenhead, 188 in West Berkshire and 143 in Bracknell.

The increase comes as the country enters the first day of the extended lockdown.

It was announced yesterday (April 16), there would be at least another three weeks where people can only go out for certain essential trips.

The lockdown will be extended until May 7, when it will be reviewed once more.

Boris Johnson first announced that the UK would go onto lockdown on March 23.
