Another 17 people have lost their lives at Berkshire's hospitals after testing positive for coronavirus.

The latest figures from NHS England on Wednesday (April 22) show a total of 358 people have now died.

There have now been 243 deaths at the Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust, which makes up the vast majority of numbers in Berkshire.

The number of positive  coronavirus  cases has increased by 40 over the last 24 hours, with now 1,611 in Berkshire - up from 1,571 yesterday (April 20).

As of 9am on Wednesday (April 22), 133,495 people have tested positive across the UK for coronavirus.

The total number of COVID-19 associated UK deaths in hospitals is now 18,100. Tragically 759 of those deaths happened in a 24 hour period.

Reading,  Berkshire  has 368 confirmed cases, while Slough has 325.

There are now 283 Wokingham cases, 206 cases in Windsor and Maidenhead, 255 in West Berkshire and 174 in Bracknell.

More than 23.6 million items of PPE were delivered to 198 NHS trusts yesterday, Downing Street has said.

The deliveries included 54,000 gowns, 1.5 million eye protectors, 257,000 FFP3 respirator masks, 1.5 million surgical masks, 2.8 million aprons and 16.6 million gloves.
