A mobile coronavirus testing centre will open in Reading this week. A COVID-19 Mobile Testing Unit (MTU) will also be in Maidenhead this a Thursday and Friday too. You can ONLY access with a booking. Please check to see if you are eligible and book an appointment at:
https://www.gov.uk/apply-coronavirus-testTests in Reading will be taking place from today (Thursday, May 14) on the car park next to Reading FC's Madejski Stadium.
The unit, which has been organised by the Department of Health and Social Care, will be able to accommodate hundreds of people per day
for a total of four days.It is part of the government’s attempts to increase access to coronavirus tests via travelling units, operated by specially trained armed forces personnel who collect swabs on site and then send them to laboratories for processing.
Tests are available by appointment only and are being arranged through the government’s COVID-19 testing website.
Tests are not available on a ‘drop-in’ basis.
Key workers and anyone who shows symptoms who is aged over 65 or working at a different place to their home can request a test.
