The number of coronavirus cases has now reached nearly 2,280, as another four people die in Berkshire's hospitals.

The latest figures released on Friday (May 15) reveal there have been a further four deaths recorded at trusts which operate Berkshire hospitals over the past 24 hours.

The number of confirmed cases across the county now stands at 2,279, as of Friday evening.

Reading has the highest number of recorded cases in the county, with 551 patients testing positive. Slough now has 440 cases - the second highest.

Elsewhere, 352 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in West Berkshire, 424 in Wokingham, 277 in Windsor and Maidenhead, and 235 in Bracknell.

Four more people have died in Berkshire's hospitals, taking the total to 497

Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust – 318 (increase of four)
 
Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust – 164 (no change)
 
Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust - 15 (no increase)

It comes as another new mobile coronavirus testing facility opens from today (Friday May 15) in Berkshire.

The venue, in the Magnet Leisure Centre car park in Maidenhead, is the latest addition to the county in the drive to get Covid-19 testing rates up.

The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead Council said that the opening is temporary for the region over the next two days.
